As busy women, we want to have healthy skin as we are chasing our dreams and making things happen.
Finding the time to successfully care for my skin and follow a routine has been a relief for me amid my busy schedule.
The goal of every busy woman is to thrive in our businesses and also look gorgeous while doing it.
The Busy Woman Guide to a Healthy Skin
Like many of you, I want to have healthy skin but not spend my whole day achieving it.
I’ve nailed down the perfect guide below that will help you get healthy skin even if you are busy.
- Water Is Good for Your Skin
For days you do not have the time to follow your skincare routine, splashing warm water on your face is enough. Water alone can clear dirt, debris, and waste right out of our pores, wash away the oiliness and give us a little bit of a glow. It cleans our skin pores which prevent the build-up of toxins in your skin.
- Always Moisturize
All skin types even oily skin requires a moisturizer. When our skin lacks the oil it needs, it produces more oil which can encourage an unwanted breakout, so the goal is to keep your skin balanced by moisturizing daily.
When purchasing moisturizers, ensure that it contains antioxidants, emollients, and products that replenish moisture and collagen levels of the skin.
- Use Toners
When we clean our face, the probability of removing every dirt and oil residue is very low. Toning is an important step to include in your skincare routine. Toning ensures all dirt and debris are removed from your pores while restoring your skin’s PH balance. Always choose an alcohol-free toner as it prevents acne and pimple breakouts.
-
Apply Sunscreen
The most important step to healthy skin is sunscreen application. This is the holy grail to achieving your skin goals. Due to how much sun you are getting, it is best to protect your skin from extended direct sunlight.
Whether you are light or dark-skinned, protecting your skin from UVA/UVB rays daily is non-negotiable.
- Exfoliate and Use Face Masks
Incorporating facial masks and exfoliation into your routine is a step to achieving healthy skin. Facial masks open up your skin pores and pull out toxins from your skin.
Exfoliation helps to shed the old dying cells on the surface of our skin, allowing the new skin cells to shine giving you a healthy glow.
The benefit of exfoliation for busy women is that you only have to do it once or twice a week.
- Be Conscious of What You Eat
Eating right has a tremendous effect on how healthy your skin looks. When you maintain a healthy diet and cut out junk food, it will reflect on your skin. Like the popular saying, ‘You are what you eat’; keep your skin looking healthy by stocking up on anti-inflammatory foods and those that contain a lot of antioxidants.
Examples of healthy foods for your skin are blueberries, green vegetables (spinach, broccoli, kale), salmon, avocados, and olive oil.
The key to healthy skin is to follow a skincare routine. Find products that work for you, stay consistent, and love the skin you’re in, no matter what.
