The Heineken Lagos fashion and design week may have come to an end but the memories will linger on a bit longer for me, as it was mixed feelings for me from my Style being celebrated all over the internet ?? (I couldn’t even keep up with the tags and repost at by the end of Day 1 ) to my phone being stolen at the end of Day 2 (story for another post). But in all I must say I had an absolute awesome time and it was definitely back to back slay – age judging by the overwhelming reaction of people online and offline!!
Weeks before fashion week I decided it was going to be a monotone palette all through with a little edge here and there but a few things changed along the line and I have to say it was for the better. But before I bore you with that details let’s jump right in !!
Day 1
Because day 1 is usually a bit laid back and everyone is just gonna be out trying to see what the vibe generally would be , I opted for a relaxed casual chic vibe with this burnt orange dress which had subtle drama in the right places paired with lace up heels and a cute floral detail bag all from Desire 1709 ‘s yet to be released collection (Talk about Founders privilege ???
This outfit was such a hit because it was super comfortable yet so stylish and I think it was the right way to announce that it was about to be a year of slay – age!!!
I had my son Adam with me (my 6 years old personal photographer) and he took amazing photos which got massive love and repost

Day 2
In the continuous spirit of monotone , I wore a nude trouser suit by the talented Nigerian designer Mae Otti (wore another piece from her here
I paired my suit with a red embellish corset , red shoes and where’s the edge you may ask? – I tied my hair with 6 yards of Ankara fabric .Yes you heard right..the entire 6 yards …
This look was another press and people favorite as it screamed African Royalty in every inch and bit of it.

Day 3
Days before fashion week I was privileged to see the collection of hand knitted pieces made by Nigerian Knit designer Edwin Okolo and this particular knit jacket jumped at me . I had initially planned to just blog with it but then something happened with my initial outfit plus my phone got stolen at the end of Day two and my mood and everything else changed a bit .I was almost not going to attend day 3 but decided the devil was not gonna rob me totally of my shine . So I decided I was gonna wear this jacket and express my art through it and the rest they say is history!!!
I paired it a white shirt , an asymmetrical skirt a huge layer of jewelry , a red mini bag(all from desire1709 ) and blue ruffled Marco de Vincenzo mule which I talked about here .

Day 4
The response and love from day 3 was enormous and that sort of lifted my mood even though I was still phone less hehe ? .
This day being the last day and judging from my back to back slay – age I knew I had to finish what I started in grand Style . I continued my monotone vibe in the hottest color of the season RED! I arrived looking like a hot pepper in this bubble sleeve organza shirt , super long pants , a bum bag/fanny pack (to prevent another loss of item and because I had my two boys Adam and Asher attend with me , I had to be practical and super organized!!!
My outfit was from desire1709 , shoes by Yves Saint Laurent and bag by Gucci…
By the end of Day 4 , I totally felt fulfilled with my entire wardrobe choice and I’ve sincerely had a hard time deciding which look I loved the most …
But maybe y’all can help me by leaving a comment below about your favorite look from the 4 days and why!!!
